Meet Jan Jackson...
A multi-generational Texan, Jan serves a diverse collection of clients in Austin, principally in the areas of estate planning and probate law. For over 15 years, Jan has been practicing exclusively in this area of law, and has assisted hundreds of clients. Her love of people extends to her work, and she finds that meeting with individuals or couples to explore their needs and goals and come up with a personally designed estate plan for them is very rewarding.
Growing up in San Antonio Jan became close to her grandmother, and they spent a lot of time together during her grandmother’s later years. Through being with her, Jan has since found a great deal of satisfaction in assisting the elderly and infirm. She has compassion for people facing difficult and sometimes frightening circumstances, and works with them to express their wishes and to protect what is important to them. In her practice, if called upon, she will visit with clients in their home, in the hospital, or in assisted living, wanting to be where they feel most comfortable and safe. Jan has participated in numerous boards and organizations, including the Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, The Austin Bar Association, and The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas. She has served as a volunteer attorney at the Center for Legal and Social Justice at St. Mary’s Law School, and on the Board of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio Trust Fund for the Endowments. Jan is a graduate of the University of Houston and received her J.D. from St. Mary’s University. When not practicing law, Jan delights in long hikes on sunny days through the Texas Hill Country, accompanied by Nika, her beloved Blue Heeler. |
